CommunityPolicies on the RoPets Wiki are sets of rules or instructions that all users are expected to follow during their time on the wiki. Policies are sub-divided into two parts, notably the wiki's local policies, which users are only expected to follow during their time on the wiki, and Fandom's global policies or Terms of Use, which must be followed globally across all Fandom wikis, including this wiki.
Global Policies
Global policies include Fandom's User Conduct and the Community creation policy.
User Conduct
- Abuse, harass, threaten or intimidate other Fandom users.
- Harassment includes spam-tagging users to a secondary wiki for the sake of advertisement or anything else that could be deemed as a malicious intention.
- Post or transmit any content that is obscene, pornographic, abusive, offensive, profane, or otherwise violates any law or right of any third party, or content that contains homophobia, transphobia, ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, or encourages criminal conduct.
- Users are expected to follow all norms and principles of human rights. (more information)
- Attempt to impersonate another user or person.
- Whether done with a good intent or not, users must not create accounts solely to present themselves as someone else and/or falsely claim to be another user.
- Post, upload, transmit, share, or store unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, solicitations, “spam”, or any other type of unauthorized solicitation;
- Post any illegal or unauthorized content or use for any illegal or unauthorized purposes.
- Post or transmit any communication or solicitation designed or intended to obtain password, account, email address, or private information such as age from any Fandom user. This includes phishing links and prohibited third party trading sites.
- Utilize multiple accounts with a malicious intent;
- This includes creating and/or using accounts to evade blocks, manipulate an impression of an idea or post, or to mislead editors.
- Alternative accounts may only be used when the user has a solid reason to do so. (For example: Bots)
- Solicit personal information from any user.
- This is inclusive in the COPPA law. Users under the age of 13 are not allowed to edit or post on Fandom.
Local Policies
Local Policies are a localized set of policies that help in keeping the RoPets Wiki in a good shape. Users are expected to follow these policies along with the User Conduct, but punishments for violation of these policies are generally more lenient than violations to global policies.
Local Policies on the RoPets Wiki have been divided into the following:
Speech and Coordination
Coordination must be maintained amongst users of the RoPets Wiki's community to ensure a proper and constructive environment. This policy disallows speech that is generally libelous, that is speech used to defame or shame other users.
- Carry out exceedingly libelous discussions.
- Flame wars or witch hunts are strictly prohibited on the wiki. Users are expected to treat each other with respect.
- Coordination must be maintained among community members.
- Any conflicts of interest, whether they be against a certain user or a policy, should be resolved either via consensus, or, if deemed minor enough, by approaching an Administrator.
- Use derogatory terms with the intention of shaming or demotivating other users.
- Users are free to use derogatory terms under their right to freedom of speech, but those terms shall never be aimed towards another person, whether it be a wiki user or not.
- Make personal attacks.
- Constructive criticism must never be taken as a personal attack. A personal attack can be categorized as an action done solely to make someone else feel inferior.
- Spam links to external sites for advertisement.
- Off-site links may be used for informative purposes or for general discussion.
- Links to any wiki in the Roblox Interwiki Project, Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and MediaWiki are never considered off-site.
- For example, users may post a link to a different wiki, YouTube, Twitter, or any other Social Media to share their creation or artwork, or to get help from other fellow editors, or to verify citational claims on articles.
- Spam on threads.
- Spam is considered to be the rapid posting of messages which is often uncalled for.
- This rule disallows threads made solely to solicit upvotes or a large number of replies.
- Publicly call out users, whether they be a part of the RoPets Wiki or not.
- Users must aim towards being polite and courteous to all, to therefore maintain a secure and fun environment.
- Calling out players on Roblox for scamming or hacking in a libelous way is not courteous, and thus, such posts will be removed. (more information)
- Carry out predatory or otherwise unacceptable or illegal behavior.
- Attempting to online date and indulging in relationships with other members of the RoPets Wiki is strictly prohibited. All users are expected to not make others uncomfortable.
- Extort or blackmail other users.
- Extortion is the act of forcing other users to reveal personal information through threats, force, or other illicit means.
- Carry out discussions related to illegal activities.
- Discussions related to terrorism or strong political beliefs, as well as discussions promoting any such related content are strictly prohibited.
Talk it out!
Although not heavily enforced, users on the RoPets Wiki should refrain from direct or indirect call-outs. The RoPets Wiki does not brigade any claims of users hacking or scamming someone, for the "proof" provided is generally vague and can easily be faked. The RoPets Wiki is a platform where users come together to carry out discussions regarding RoPets, thus, it is not the wiki's duty to verify such claims which should directly be taken to the developers of RoPets.
When conflicts arise on the wiki, users may look towards the staff for assistance. While the staff team is always ready to help users, they will certainly never get involved in personal conflicts such as scam incidents. Such conflicts should be handled privately between both the claimants, preferably outside the RoPets Wiki. The staff team may only step in if one of the claimants (or victim) of such an incident violates wiki policies while participating in such conflicts and causes internal disruption, such as negativity.
Privacy Policy
Users on Fandom are free to share personal information under their own discretion, assuming that they are over the age of 13. However, personal information which may be excessively private or which reveal someone else's identity will be removed. Any user may request a staff member for the removal of their personal information from the wiki, under their own jurisdiction.
Although the staff team will do their best to protect the privacy of the wiki's users, it must be noted that the staff team is not held accountable for any "information leaks": Users take full responsibility for the content they post or add to the wiki.
