Pets are, by far-and-large, the most important aspect of RoPets. They are small virtual adoptable critters that players can either obtain out of eggs, purchase in exchange for Robux, or trade for using the trading system or the trading center. Pets in RoPets can be found under the "Pets" section of a player's inventory and are classified under the following 5 rarities:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Acquiring Pets[]
There are 31 different pets that can be acquired in RoPets through either of the following methods:
- Eggs: Standard Eggs (non-evolved eggs) present in the Pet Shop can be purchased in exchange for Coins to acquire basic pets. Mythic Pets can only be hatched out of Mythic Eggs.
- Robux: 25 basic pets can directly be purchased from their respective display pedestals located inside the Pet Shop.
- Trading/Trading Center: As with all other in-game assets, pets can be traded for and traded away using either the 1 to 1 trading system or the trading center.
- Starter Pet (one-time): Players get to choose from 8 pets when they play RoPets for the first time as a part of the in-game tutorial. These pets are referred to as "Starter Pets".
Aging Pets[]
Pets in RoPets can be aged by completing Pet Needs, which in turn add a specific amount of Pet XP to the pet's total XP count, found lying above its head in a floating billboard interface element. There are 6 number of ages in RoPets:
- RoBorn
- RoJunior
- RoKid
- RoTween
- RoTeen
- RoGrown
After a player acquires 4 pets of the same time that are fully grown (RoGrown), they have the ability to evolve them using the Fox Shrine. Starting September 9, 2021, age up rewards were added to the game which were granted to players each time they level up their pet.
Pet Age | Age Up Reward |
---|---|
RoBorn → RoJunior | 100 |
RoJunior → RoKid | 100 |
RoKid → RoTween | 5 |
RoTween → RoTeen | 5 |
RoTeen → RoGrown | 10 |
Pet Needs[]
Pet Needs refer to tasks that players can do in order to gain XP for their pets as well as Coins and Season XP. Some of these "needs" occur once each day, while others may appear occasionally. These two types of needs are shown in the game as hexagonal and round icons with red-colored backgrounds. The ones with round icons that appear frequently are referred to as "Basic Needs", while the hexagonal ones that only appear occasionally and are exclusive of each other (which means that two of them cannot appear at the same time) are referred to as "Other Needs".
Basic Needs can easily be satisfied and involve daily tasks, while Other Needs involve taking one's pet to a special location.

Pet Interactions[]
Players can interact with their pets by either pressing the E key while on PC, the Ⓧ button on Xbox, or by tapping on the interaction button while on touchscreen devices. Players can also click on sparking rocks and bushes placed around the map while having a pet equipped to acquire resources for crafting.
There are 5 types of interactions:
- Customize
- Feed
- Dance
- Ride
- Fly
Out of the 5 interactions, the Ride and Fly interactions are locked until the player pays 200 and 500 respectively, to unlock the ability to either ride their pet or fly their pet.
