Petlings are a miniature version of pets in RoPets which were added to the game as a part of the April 21, 2022 update, alongside the Petling Capsule Machine, the To-Do List, and the 
Petling Token currency, which are all vital to obtaining petlings. They are found under the "Petlings" tab in a player's backpack.
These petlings, similar to pets, are classified under the following 6 rarities:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
- Mythical

There are currently a total of 358 petlings in-game, divided into 113 sets of petlings, with varying colors. Epic and Legendary petlings have neon glowing parts in their assets. Petlings, dissimilar to pets, do not have ages and thus, do not have any pet needs either. They also do not have any evolved or shiny forms. Two petlings can be equipped at once, with additional two slots being purchasable for 
Robux in the form of two passes, each of which grant an extra slot to equip a petling and cost 150.
Acquiring Petlings[]
There are currently three methods to acquire petlings in RoPets:
- Capsules: Petling Capsules (or capsules for short) can be purchased from the Petling Capsule Machine, located at the City Center, in exchange for
10 each. Petling Token is a special currency that can be earned by completing tasks listed in the in-game To-Do List. - Silver Capsules: Silver Capsules can be obtained from the Daily Playtime Rewards upon playing for accumulated 3 hours. These capsules are also obtainable from the Season Pass. Silver Capsules do not hatch into common petlings.
- Gold Capsules: Gold Capsules are obtainable from the Season Pass. They can also be acquired through official giveaways, from select influencers that are included in the RoPets Influencer Squad, or from @SuperBevarooni on Twitter. Gold Capsules do not hatch into common or uncommon petlings.
- Trading/Trading Center: Excluding petlings that are listed as untradable, such as the special petlings redeemed from codes, most petlings can be traded using traditional trading methods or through the Trading Center.
Sets[]
Petling Sets refer to sets of three petlings of various different colors which are based on the same asset and are essentially recolors of each other. The petlings in such sets have similar names, for example, the Seal Set comprises the Seal, the Sealy, and the Sealo petling. Each set has a rarity assigned to it and all petlings under that particular set have the same rarity.
Interactions[]

Petlings do not have any special interactions, however, they can be used to interact with sparking bushes and rocks, similar to pets, to unearth resources that can further be used for crafting. Players can also customize the nickname of their petling.
Petlings, when equipped, run alongside the player's equipped pet while in motion and pretend to perform the tasks that the equipped pet is doing, such as sleeping or dancing.
Merging Petlings[]
The interface element using which players can merge their petlings.
Petlings do not have any evolved or shiny version, however, any four petlings can be merged to form a single petling that may potentially have a rarity that is higher than the four pets being merged.
- In order to merge four petlings, players have to interact with the Fox Shrine, located at RoPets Square, and once the interface appears, choose the "Merge Petlings" option.
- Upon clicking the "Merge Petlings" button, another interface element would pop up on the player's screen which would allow them to add any four of their desired petlings to be merged. Under the four '+' (plus) signs, a textbox with the heading "Likely Outcome" determines the most likely rarity outcome of a successful merge involving any four petlings.
- The player can proceed with the merge by clicking the green "Merge" button after adding all four petlings.
There can be a total of 3125 outcomes of merging petlings. Example: The likely outcome of combining four common petlings is _, while the likely outcome of combining two uncommon and two rare petlings is _.
Note: The petlings being merged need not be of the same kind. For example, a player can merge a Dog, a Seal, a Pug, a Bear, and a Pig to obtain a petling of a higher rarity if they desire to do so.
